Coat Drive
In November, several hundred new coats are given to children and young adults. Gently used coats are collected and distributed to adults along with hats, gloves and scarves. We want people to be warm in the cold weather and appreciate the generosity of the churches and individuals who support us.
Thanksgiving
Every year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, a dozen or more volunteers gather to assemble and distribute more than 200 turkeys plus everything needed for a complete dinner from appetizer to dessert. The event, supported by local churches and individuals, helps to create a good Thanksgiving for all our Chester people.
Christmas
At Christmas, Chester Eastside provides toys and gift certificates to more than 100 families. Our large, free Christmas bazaar includes clothing, household items and decorations for the season. We value the assistance of local churches and individuals and it is a very special time for our clients.
