The main artery that leads to the heart of our programs and ministries…

On Monday, September 12, one of our signature programs will open wide its doors to receive children and youth from our community. Out of School Time (OST) offers a warm and welcoming space where students come after the school day ends to complete their homework with volunteer companions, engage in learning through activities and clubs, engage in online reading and math curriculum, and receive food for the evening. We rejoice in the volunteers and staff who make this happen; no less than for the opportunity to play a positive role in the lives of our children and youth.

In preparation for the opening, we’re putting out the call for volunteers to sort, clean, and organize the spaces where the students learn, grow, play, eat, and thrive. If you are available, we will gather at CEI at 9:00am on Saturday the 10th. The needed supplies will be waiting, and the coffee will be fresh and hot!

And now for the update…

The place where people receive instruction, sustenance, support, and hope.

the leadership of our partner in ministry at St. Paul’s have given us the green light to paint! So, if painting is your passion, or if you have a penchant for brushes and rollers…we’ll gather on Friday at 2:00pm to clean and prepare the Dining Room, the Common Room, and the hallway. Then, on Saturday morning (9:00am) we will return and unite with the cleaners to renew and refresh the space.

If you are able to join in, please call the office (610-872-4812) so we can plan for the number of people who are coming. Rumor has it some pizzas just might show up while we’re there…

Green is great…stay tuned for what will come next…

Even as it may be a worn cliché – “It takes a village to raise a child.” – may we rejoice in the opportunity to be a part of the village that is caring and providing for our CEI young ones.

Peace,

Andy
